A cowgirl an arena and 26 hats
Where:
Kristin Van Der Geest barrel races at rodeo arenas around the country, but she works & plays at Flickerwood Arena, Jackson, MO.
One of the largest fully enclosed indoor arenas in the area, Flickerwood Arena is located at exit #105 (Fruitland & Jackson exit) off Interstate 55, approximately 100 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri, and 160 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee. Flickerwood is conveniently located and is within 10 minutes of a wide selection of hotels, restaurants and shopping. The arena hosts a variety of events, including, but not limited to:- youth rodeos,
- team roping,
- barrel racing,
- clinics,
- ATV racing,
- horse shows,
- equipment shows,
- and so much more!
In addition to regularly scheduled events, the arena is open evenings throughout the week for riding, barrel racing and team roping practices. It is also available to rent for events, private practices, etc.
For overnight travelers, Flickerwood also has stalls and electric hook-ups.
What:
Kristin can be found sporting a cap most of the time, but when barrel racing - her cowgirl hat is a must.
Yes, we know that no right-minded cowgirl would stack her hat into a space with 25 others, but with Wrapsit™ slipcover crate... it's possible! Want to learn more about cowboy hats, The Cowboy Hat Guide is a blog completely dedicated to this iconic item of western clothing.
For safety reasons, pooches are not allowed inside the arena; but cowboy hats... are you kiddin'?
